WENDO meaning LOVE in Kikuyu
Wendo means love in Kikuyu, one of the oldest tribes of Africa. More than just a word, it carries the wisdom of generations—that love is not fleeting, but something to be nurtured, protected, and lived with intention. From this heritage, Wendo was born: a reminder that true connection is both ancient and timeless.

Love

They say ‘relationships are work’—but no one teaches us what that work really is. How do two people, shaped by completely different upbringings, learn to see eye to eye when triggered? How do I avoid hurting the person I love with careless words? Why do I keep saying things I regret and apologizing after?
Wendo was born from my own frustration with dating. After years of failed relationships, I realized love requires intentionality. So I did the work—I went to therapy, took courses, attended retreats, and began a long but rewarding healing journey. When I finally felt ready to date again, I faced a new problem: where do you meet people who are just as committed to growing and loving consciously? Most dating apps only focus on getting you a match—quality doesn’t matter. You’re left wading through ghosting, small talk, and endless frogs before finding one emotionally ready partner.
That’s why we built Wendo—a community of people who are not just looking for love, but are eager, ready, and devoted to showing up right for the person they love
